Carol Welch
VP of Client Services
Carol comes to Stumm Insurance with over 20 years of employee benefits consulting experience. Prior to joining Stumm, Carol was on the leadership team at another employee benefits brokerage, overseeing a team of Account Executives and Account Managers while growing and maintaining her own book of business.
Carol has been an account lead for many employers and is adept at learning the ever-changing needs of her clients and implementing cost containment healthcare strategies. Additionally, Carol has more than 10 years of experience in Human Resources. Before her transition to benefits consulting, she served as Director of Human Resources for a mid-sized international software company. She also previously worked as Senior Manager of Employee Development, leveraging her abilities to train and help employees learn and grow.
In her free time, Carol enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and getting outside as much as possible.
Anthony DeMaria
Vice President of Sales & Implementation
Anthony started his career after college as an account manager with another local insurance agency in 2004. From there, he moved into a sales role with a pharmacy staffing company and then made his way back into the insurance industry, joining BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois in 2009. Initially at BCBSIL, Anthony was on the local medical sales team and after six years there, he joined their leadership ranks with responsibilities for the dental and ancillary sales and account management teams. Anthony graduated with a degree in Communications from Purdue University. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, playing hockey, coaching hockey, and listening to live music.
Danielle Ozer
VP of Client Service
Danielle has over 30 years of employee benefit brokerage experience. Prior to joining Stumm, Danielle was part of the senior leadership team at a insurance brokerage and consulting firm where she oversaw the service of 215 clients. In her role with Stumm Insurance, Danielle will be vital in developing strategic direction and business development for new and existing clients. She is excited to join and contribute to such an amazing organization that has so many talented people, encourages collaboration and fosters a supportive team environment. In Danielle’s free time she is an avid cook and baker, especially breads. She is a golfer and a regular at the gym. She loves to read, mostly fiction, and her favorite book is Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None”.
John Stuart
VP of Client Service
John began his insurance career in 1993 and has focused specifically on employee benefits since 1995. After working at the same firm as a Broker/Consultant for over 19 years, he decided to join Stumm Insurance in 2015. John received his BA in Speech Communications with a Studio Art minor from Augustana College. Maintaining the “family feel” of the agency while watching it grow into a well-respected firm is what gives John pride in calling Stumm home. Outside of the office John enjoys spending time with his kids, creating DIY projects & artwork, alpine skiing, attending live music events and relaxing at his vacation home.
Brian Stumm
Executive Vice President
Brian graduated a UK Wildcat, and began his benefits career in 1998 in Chicago. After spending several years in Seattle, Brian returned home to start Stumm Insurance in 2007 with his brothers. Once an aspiring architect, Brian now enjoys the challenge of designing benefit plans, particularly around M&A activity. When not sitting at the proverbial benefits “drafting table,” you might find him in his kitchen making breakfast, at a local gym or on a nearby golf course. What gives Brian the most joy in life is simply watching the growth and development of the Stumm Nation.
Dave Stumm
Executive Vice President
Dave is one of the founders of Stumm Insurance and has proudly watched it grow from four employees in 2007 to one of the largest benefits agencies in Chicago. He has been in the insurance industry since 1997 and received his BBA from the University of Notre Dame. When he is not in the office, Dave and his wife are usually attending a sporting event for one of their four children, catching a movie, or watching the Cubs, Bears, or Bulls.
Jack Stumm
Executive Vice President
Jack began his career in the field of public accounting working as a financial auditor for six years at a big four accounting firm in Chicago. Jack received his BA in Accounting from Miami University in Ohio in 2003, and earned his Certified Public Accountant license in 2008. In 2009 Jack brought his accounting & operational experience to Stumm and joined with his brothers to help grow the company to the defining employee benefit practice it is today. Jack loves spending time with his wife, four children, family, and friends – who all constantly remind him his jokes and athleticism are not as good as he thinks they are.
Jim Stumm
Executive Vice President
Jim began working in the employee benefits industry in 2000. After working for a Chicago-based national insurance brokerage, Jim served as a Senior Group Sales Representative with a national benefits carrier for six years. He then founded Stumm Insurance in 2007 with his brothers. Jim received his BA in Marketing from Marquette University. In his free time he loves to play basketball and golf.
Marcy Testa
Director of Client Service & Employee Development
Marcy has been in the insurance industry since 1995 spending much of her time in the employee benefits industry. She has worked in both small and large agencies helping them to evolve and grow with the changing times. Marcy prides herself on being an advocate and educator to her clients and their employees. Marcy joined the Stumm team in 2015 where she continues to be a resource by helping to mentor and develop our growing family. She spends her free time focusing on health and nutrition, rescuing dogs, reading, and exploring new adventures.
